Employee Relations in HR Department
Employee
relations’ (ER) is the term that simply defines the relationship between
employers and employees. And ER focuses both on individual and collective
relationships in the workplace with an increasing emphasis on the relationship
between managers and their team members. Same as to that Employee Relations can
be explained as an organization effort of creating and maintaining a positive
and effective relationship with the employees. Basically, maintaining a
positive and effective employer employee relationship will help you to keep the
employees more loyal and to motivate the employees to work efficiently. Same as
to that in employee relations role has to act as an liaison or intermediary
between employees and managers, or else creating or advising on the creation of
policies around employee issues like fair compensation, useful benefits, proper
work-life balance, reasonable working hours ect
While
speaking about the Employee Relations, it can be divided in to two functions
under HR Department as,
01. HR helps prevent and resolve problems or disputes between
employees and management.
02. Assist in creating and enforcing policies that are fair
and consistent for everyone in the workplace.
According
to this to maintain a positive relationship with the employees the organization
must view employees as stakeholders and contributors in the company rather than
simply as paid laborers, in other words the organization must value the employees
of the organization as per the valuable asset of an organization.

Employer/Employee Relationship
The employees who have mutually respectful relationships with their employers are more likely to be happy, loyal and productive in long term run.
The work will be easier than doing all alone, by sharing the tasks among each other’s.
An individuals will feel motivated in the company and
fall back to the others to get the help from others as well.
Healthy employee relations also discourage conflicts and
fights among individuals.
A healthy employee relationship can reduces the problem
of absenteeism and turnover at the work place
Conclusion
As
an organization it is very important to have the employee relation team to
handle the employees and the management of the organization due to It is
essential that employees are comfortable with each other for better focus and
concentration, lesser conflicts and increased productivity.

Dear Buddhika I agree with the concerns that you have emphasized here with regards to the involvement of Employee Relations Management in any organization. Maintaing employment policies while attending the employee grievances , management of absenteeism, managing the resistance to change while overseeing employee orientation and training are all come together under the one roof of employee relations. ReplyDeleteEarlier days HR function was actually very boring part of the company but now system change and task changed approach changed and also HR function is one of the very interesting departments of the company. ReplyDeleteEmployee relations with organization is broader impact. proper functional HR department is more important on this. If there is less employee relation with HR department It will increase to Employee grievance, turnover, absenteeism. so... HR department should very close with employee to understand there requirement. without better relations with employee HR will fail to get this and it will broader issue to Organization.
