Motivation can do the Change

                  Motivation can do the Change

At the end of the day, when it comes to manufacturing, we need very good results with productivity and efficiency. Motivation is one of the key factors for improving the result.

Motivation is a highly personal process.  Whether we define it as a drive or a need, motivation is a condition inside us that desires a change, either in the self or the environment. When we tap into this energy source, motivation gives the person the energy and direction they need to interact with their environment in an adaptive, open-ended way of problem solving(Armstrong, 2006)

We can identify two main types of Motivation methods (Armstrong, 2006)

Intrinsic motivation  That arise from outside of the individual and often involve rewards such as trophies, money, social recognition, or praise

Extrinsic motivationAre those that arise from within the individual, such as doing a complicated crossword puzzle purely for the personal gratification of solving a problem (Armstrong, 2006)

Industrial engineering department proposed a new incentive system for this

The company will give an incentive to any line that achieves the first three days of its plan efficacy.    The top management of the factory agreed to the proposal.

                                                        Figure 2 (Trueffelpix, 2000)

As the management expects after the introduction of the new incentive, all associated line change activities will be carried out with maximum effort using the correct method. The team members built up their teamwork, working with a happy mood on the line changing time, very enthusiastic. Finally, the team got a better result. The team reached its first three-day plan target as the company management expected.
